The site for VG2018 is:

Gilwell Scout Park is located on Gembrook-Launching Place Road, Gembrook, in the Dandenong Ranges, just over 70km east of Melbourne, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes drive.

One (1) trailer per unit may be left at the campsite attached to a car for the whole weekend - you cannot exit the camp until after the camp closes on Sunday afternoon.  See the Conditions of Entry for full details.


Travel Options:

Drive:   About 1 hour 30 minutes from Melbourne

Option 1: You can travel on the M3 getting off at Maroondah Highway, through Lilydale, then onto the Warburton Highway, turning right onto Lusatia Park road in Woori Yallock, then turning right onto the Gembrook-Launching Place Road until you get to Gilwell.

Option 2: You can travel along the M1 getting off at Ferntree Gully Road, then Burwood Highway.     Turning onto the Gembrook-Launching Place Road in Gembrook and continue until you get to Gilwell.  See Map below.

Public Transport:   Catch a train from Melbourne to Belgrave Station (about 1 hour), then the VG Shuttle Bus to Gembrook (about 30 minutes - at an extra cost).


Shuttle Bus:

Please note: you will need to book and pay for the VG Shuttle Bus as part of the registration process by 25 November 2018.

Book early, as the bus only seats 40 passengers per trip.

The cost of taking the shuttle bus from Ferntree Gully Station to Gilwell on the Friday night, or from Gilwell to Ferntree Gully on the Sunday is as follows:

1 trip (either Friday or Sunday):   $10.00 each way
2 trips (Friday and Sunday) :   $15.00 for both

Bus times:

Check the train timetable to estimate a time to book your bus.  If you miss your train or it is delayed, make sure to ring VG admin on 0409 123 043 to let them know so that they can reorganise your bus seat.

Friday night from Ferntree Gully:   6pm, 7.30pm and 9pm. Extra shuttles will be added if needed.

Sunday afternoon from Gilwell:   12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm
